El Dorado Hills Traffic:
It's about 44% of all traffic on El Dorado County's West Slope
... and EDH's share is still growing
Statistics
for issuance of building permits for new housing continue to show more
than half of all new housing in El Dorado County being directed to El
Dorado Hills. This is reflected in El Dorado Hills' share of total
traffic in the County. It is likely that EDH will have more than half
of the County's total surface street traffic no later than 2020,
possibly as early as 2015.
The graphs below are derived
from county-wide traffic count data covering 10 years (1999-2009) from
the El Dorado County Department of Transportation. The data depicts
annually sampled traffic counts for specific locations on County roads.

Overview: Map of traffic levels for each Regional Analysis District (RAD):
Graphs and pie charts below associate traffic count data from each measurement point on the road system with either a "RAD" or an "Area".
RAD definitions are as shown above, with boundaries defined by SACOG:
The Sacramento Area Council Of Governments. An Area
is loosely equivalent to a Community Region or a Rural Center and its
surrounding rural territory, as defined in the El Dorado County General
Plan. If desired, contact Paul Raveling
for a more detailed discussion of Area definitions, including
significance of the Census Designated Place boundaries for El Dorado
Hills and Cameron Park.

This
map is based on maps in the Regional Transportation Plan, which do not
depict the two largest cities on the West Slope because both are still
unincorporated: El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park. The variant shown
here adds approximate outlines of them based on their Census Designated
Place boundaries.
